A building under construction partially collapsed in North Yarmouth, Maine, with part of the structure landing on a crane at the construction site.
Firefighters responded to the site on Walnut Hill Road at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday after part of the building gave way, according to North Yarmouth Fire Rescue.
A wall fell onto a crane that was being used to lift sections of the building into position. Officials said there did not appear to be significant damage to the crane.
No injuries reported
No workers were inside the affected section when the collapse occurred. Workers had reportedly left the site for lunch, and no injuries were reported.
Photos from North Yarmouth Fire Rescue showed several wall sections and roof trusses that had fallen.
Officials had not immediately determined what caused the structural failure. Firefighters checked the scene and secured the area because of the potential hazards created by the damaged structure.
The cause of the collapse remains under evaluation.
